We do not collect any information beyond the vey basic, that is essential for providing our services and take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Most of such information is collected by Apple on a optional / Opt-in basis to provide anonymous app usage and crash log data. In addition, we collect some anonymous app usage metrics to help us understand app usage enabling us to provide an improved experience for our users. For our paid users, some payment information may be collected by our payment processor (Apple and RevenueCat - https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/ ) to allow billing and the ability to restore purchases.

 

Data Processing and Cloud Interaction

 

At Cam Hero, we prioritise your privacy by ensuring that almost entirety of the processing of data occurs directly on your device. We don't employ any cloud or physical servers beyond the app for any video processing and streaming. We believe in minimising the transfer and storage of your personal information on external servers. The majority of the app's functionality is designed to operate locally on your device, enhancing both performance and privacy.

 

If required, certain strictly necessary functions and some optional features, such as user account management (for payment purposes for instance), may involve limited processing on secure cloud servers. Rest assured, we employ industry-standard security measures to protect any data that is transmitted or stored in the cloud.

Camera streams, screenshots and recordings are always private and never leave the personal user device; no cloud processing is employed for such scenarios.

Cam Hero doesn't need any account sign-up. However when you pay for a premium plan, we may collect your name, email address, and other information you provide that is strictly necessary for billing purposes.

 

- Usage Information: 

 

We may collect information about how you use the App, including your interactions with the app and its features. 

 

Non-Personal Information:

 

- Device Information: 

We may collect information about your mobile device, including the device type and operating system. 

 

- Local network communication: 

 

Cam Hero may utilize local network communication for specific features, such as ONVIF protocol compliant device discovery, sharing data between devices on the same network etc. We store the local IP addresses, ports and login credentials and other information pertaining to “devices” added to CamHero on the device where the app is installed.

 

- Apple CloudKit Services: 

 

To provide a consistent experience across different devices owned by a single user, Cam Hero may leverage Apple CloudKit services. This enables seamless synchronisation of data while maintaining the privacy and security of your information.

- Aptabase

We use Aptabase, an open-source analytics tool, to collect minimal anonymous usage data, such as app opens, pages visited etc. The source code for Aptabase is publicly available at https://github.com/aptabase/aptabase. Importantly, we do not collect any personal identifiers, ensuring your privacy is respected. The metrics collected are solely intended to help us understand app usage patterns, enabling us to improve features and enhance the overall user experience.

 

 - Usage and Diagnostic Data

 

By using Cam Hero, you acknowledge and agree that, in order to improve the quality and performance of the app, we may collect diagnostic information provided by Apple through TestFlight, App Store Connect and other similar services. This information may include, but is not limited to, anonymous session and crash logs and mostly collected by Apple on a opt-in basis.

 

We will use this diagnostic information solely for the purpose of identifying and addressing issues related to the functionality and performance of the app. Such information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

 

You have the option to opt-out of providing this diagnostic information by adjusting your device settings. However, please be aware that opting out may limit our ability to address potential issues and enhance the overall user experience.
